Global Fund Opportunities for Hep Funding @2:30AM HST

Global Fund have reaffirmed and expanded their commitment to hepatitis B and C programmes. Countries can request resources to support viral hepatitis, harm reduction & triple elimination services, with the latest GFATM funding cycle allowing countries to prioritise requests for hepatitis services among people living with HIV (PLHIV), key populations and pregnant women.

As part of this webinar, the opportunities for countries to include hepatitis programmes in their proposals will be discussed along with the mechanisms for doing so. The webinar will also preview a resource toolkit developed by Clinton Healthcare Access Initiative (CHAI), to further support countries to understand the funding opportunities for hepatitis programmes.

The webinar will explore the Global Fund opportunities for hepatitis support from multiple perspectives including:

  1. How countries have previously used funding from the Global Fund to support hepatitis programmes and the impact of that.

  2. As the largest funder of harm reduction, it will include this perspective on the new information note and how this more broadly supports the new World Health Organization (WHO) consolidated guidelines on HIV, viral hepatitis and STI prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care for key populations (men who have sex with men, trans and gender diverse people, sex workers, people who inject drugs and people in prisons and other closed settings).

  3. What this means for civil society organisations
