The Hawaiʻi Department of Healthʻs Office of Language Access will hold - an in-person, one-day conference entitled "Language Access – Navigating Toward a New Normal." The conference will be on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Ala Moana Hotel.

The conference will highlight “plain language” as a part of implementing language access today. The objectives for this year’s conference are to:

• Emphasize the importance of plain language as the building block of effective communication.

• Facilitate the sharing of ideas, expertise, and experiences from local and national perspectives.

• Identify ways to increase organizational capacity to provide language assistance to persons with limited English proficiency.
