The Empire Liver Foundation and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene invites you to attend Hepatitis B and Pregnancy on Thursday, January 19 (4:30pm-5:30pm EST). 1 CME/CNE/CEU

Description: This training is designed to educate clinical providers on current hepatitis B screening and treatment guidelines for people of childbearing age, pregnant people and children

Speaker: Tatyana Kushner, MD, MSCE, Assistant Professor of Medicine Divisions of Liver Diseases, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

Learning Objectives: By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to understand:

  • ​Diagnosis and epidemiology of hepatitis B virus (HBV)

  • Effect of pregnancy on HBV and HBV on pregnancy outcomes

  • Gestational parent-to-child transmission

  • Screening recommendations during pregnancy

  • Role of antiviral therapy in pregnancy

  • Prevention of gestational parent-to-child transmission
